Asha’s modern Indian restaurant and cocktail bar opens in Manchester with brand new uniform design
Modern Indian restaurant and cocktail bar, Asha’s, is working with award winning designer uniform company NO Uniform to create a brand new bespoke uniform for staff of its new Manchester restaurant.
The Asha’s Group has confirmed the opening of its first Asha’s restaurant and cocktail bar in Manchester in September, when the launch will be graced by the legendary Bollywood singing star Asha Bhosle.
The venue in the elegant Victorian building at 47 Peter St, Manchester, facing the Theatre Royale, comprises 6000 sq. ft over two floors. The upper ground floor is the 100-cover restaurant and the lower ground floor will host the cocktail bar for 70 and a private dining space.
The Asha’s menus will offer a delicious array of Modern Indian Cuisine paired with an exciting, modern cocktail menu and carefully selected wine list.
The multi-award-winning Indian singer Asha Bhosle is the inspiration behind the restaurant group, with many of the dishes originating from her own recipes. Asha will attend the opening to meet fans and road test the menu.
The focus isn’t all about the food however, by working alongside NO Uniform to create a bespoke uniform Asha’s is ensuring the opulent styles of the Middle East can be integrated into the streets of Manchester.
NO Uniform is the UK’s leading bespoke uniform design company who helped create the bespoke uniform when Asha’s opened its Birmingham restaurant in 2007.
For Manchester, the newly designed bespoke uniform will feature a mixture of deep maroon and charcoal colours, as for waiters a double buttoned tunic top with a grey torso and maroon sleeves will accompany dark grey trousers and a matching apron. For waitresses a similarly coloured dark grey skirt and apron will join a maroon blouse but the main feature will be the jewelry as a traditional Indian necklace will be part of their uniform.
Nicholas Oakwell, Founder of NO Uniform, commented, “Creating a new uniform always requires a combination of creativity and brand interpretation. For Asha’s, we wanted to capture the culture of traditional Indian dress, the modern feel of the upmarket restaurant, and current trends of Indian style. We feel the final design is a wonderful example of India at its best, with a blend of tradition, style and opulence all present.”
Peter Warden, Asha’s Group General Manager, says: “For the Manchester venue we have taken a major leap forward in the evolution of the brand. I am sure that our customers will be delighted with the authentic décor, delicious drinks and amazing food that they will be able to enjoy when we open in September.
“Our uniforms blend beautifully with the restaurant interiors and as you would expert of a brand such as Asha’s, they are of the highest quality. We aim to impress guests not just with quality food but by the whole experience.”
