Actress, singer, film producer, philanthropist… Priyanka Chopra’s career as a feminist icon and star of the big screen has brought her international acclaim and recognition. Winner of Miss World in 2000, Priyanka went on to make her Bollywood debut in 2003 movie The Hero. Since then, her acting career has included a National Film Award and five Filmfare Awards, including Best Actress for 2008 movie Fashion.
Turning her celebrity status to philanthropic work, Priyanka has supported UNICEF for the last ten years, becoming a national Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights in 2010, which became a global role in 2016. Promoting causes from the environment, health and education and women’s rights, she was named in Time Magazine’s list of the world’s 100 most influential people in 2016, a year which also saw her awarded the fourth highest civilian award, the Padma Shri, by the Indian government.
