Modern Indian restaurant and cocktail bar Asha’s to bring international opulence to Manchester

Latest addition to the global restaurant group set to impress with interior design

Modern Indian restaurant and cocktail bar, Asha’s, is working with globally acclaimed interior design company Luxe Interior International.

The Asha’s Group has confirmed the opening of its first Asha’s restaurant and cocktail bar in Manchester in September, when the launch will be graced by the legendary Bollywood singing star Asha Bhosle.

The venue in the elegant Victorian building at 47 Peter St, Manchester, facing the Theatre Royale, comprises 6000 sq. ft over two floors. The upper ground floor is the 100-cover restaurant and the lower ground floor will host the cocktail bar for 70 and a private dining space.

The Asha’s menus will offer a delicious array of modern Indian Cuisine paired with an exciting cocktail menu and carefully selected wine list.

The multi-award-winning Indian singer Asha Bhosle is the inspiration behind the restaurant group, with many of the dishes originating from her own recipes. Asha will attend the opening to meet fans and road test the menu.

The focus isn’t all about the food however, as Asha’s is working with highly commended interior design consultants to ensure the opulence of the Middle East is successfully integrated into the streets of Manchester.

The design of Asha’s harnesses a combination of three main drivers: Indian authenticity, European refinement and a generous sprinkling of Dubai glamour.

The interior features a pallet of silver, bronze and white gold, with a subtle layering of turquoise and violet to bring an elegant splash of colour. With a focus on material and textures, the modern Indian eatery features key pieces to create an authentic Indian atmosphere.

Asha’s will feature bespoke chinaware designed by Ulhas Moses. The internationally acclaimed contemporary visual artist, painter, designer and sculptor Ulhas Moses, is the founder of the award-winning design studio UMS Design. Ulhas’ work is informed by Asian philosophies and has been praised for its emotional and expressive qualities, its intellectual rigour and its vibrancy of colour and mysticism. His designs will feature primarily on the tableware throughout Asha’s as well as on the newly designed cocktail menu.

Dave Rooney, Design Director at Luxe Interior International says: “Asha’s is a blend of cultural styles and languages that seamlessly combines authenticity, drama & modernity in a unique restaurant and bar experience. Asha’s will have a significant impact on the dining landscape in the North West”

Peter Warden, Asha’s Group General Manager, says: “For the Manchester venue we have taken a major leap forward in the evolution of the brand. I am sure that our customers will be delighted with the authentic décor, delicious drinks and amazing food that they will be able to enjoy when we open in September. We aim to impress guests not just with quality food but by the whole experience.”
